Cobourg Police – Woman Arrested for Impaired Operation and Impaired Over 80

On December 4th, 2020, police conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle in the Town of Cobourg.

Police investigation led officers to discover open alcohol inside the vehicle, and a breath sample from the driver failed the roadside test. As a result, 58-year-old Port Hope resident, Pamela SELKIRK, was charged with the following offences:

1. Operation while impaired – alcohol contrary to section 320.14 (1)(a) Criminal Code

2. Operation while impaired – Concentration of Alcohol (over 80mg) contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) Criminal Code

3. Drive while suspended – contrary to section 53 Highway traffic act

4. Operate motor vehicle with open container of liquor contrary to section 32(1) Liquor License act

The accused was released from custody on an appearance notice with a future court date.
