Cobourg Police – Man and Woman Arrested for Break and Enter

On Friday, October 23rd, at 7:16 pm, officers received a call for a break and enter in progress at a downtown residence.
Police attend the address and located a man and woman still inside the residence. As a result of police investigation, 28-year-old Nicholas MCCARTHY of Port Hope was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Break and Enter – Dwelling House with intent contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

2. Possess Schedule I Substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

3. Fail to Comply with Probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code

Further, 31-year-old Sandra STUBER of Cobourg was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Break and Enter – Dwelling House with intent contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

2. Fail to Comply with Probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code

MCCARTHY was held for a bail hearing later today, and STUBER was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
