Northumberland OPP – Toronto Man Charged With Impaired Driving

(HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, ON) At approximately 11:50 pm on Saturday September 19, 2020, police responded to an address on Rice Lake Drive in the town of Bewdley, after receiving information that a black GMC pick-up being driven in an erratic manner had collided with a grey Chevrolet SUV that was parked and unoccupied.

Police arrived on scene and after a conversation with the uninjured driver, the officer suspected the driver had been consuming alcohol. A roadside screening device test was administered and the driver registered a “fail” result. The operator was arrested then transported back to the OPP detachment in Cobourg for further testing.

James DUNCAN (age 57) of Toronto, Ontario has been charged with:

· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

DUNCAN received an immediate 90 day licence suspension and the vehicle was towed and impounded. He were released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on scheduled dates in December 2020.
