Vehicle Drives Into Front Entrance of Restaurant in Cobourg

The front entrance of a popular restaurant in Cobourg sustained heavy damage when a vehicle drove through the front entrance on Friday, April 17, 2020.

The collision happened at approximately 7:30 p.m. after a vehicle pulled into the parking lot by Home Plate Restaurant.

The restaurant was closed at the time and the driver and two occupants had planned on picking up pizza.

The driver told Today’s Northumberland the vehicle suddenly accelerated up the curb and into the front entrance of Home Plate Restaurant smashing glass and the front entrance doors.

The restaurant sustained thousands of dollars damage to the front entrance of the store, but no one was injured.

There were no charges in the incident.
