Update – Cobourg Police – Witnesses Sought Following Pedestrian Being Struck

Investigators with the Cobourg Police Service are seeking witnesses following a motor vehicle collision where a pedestrian was struck in the Town of Cobourg.

On the 11th day of January, 2020, shortly before 5:30 PM, members of the Cobourg Police Service were called to the area near the intersection of William Street and University Avenue West for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found a pedestrian had been struck just south of the intersection by a motor vehicle. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in fair condition.

Investigating officers are asking witnesses who may have observed the collision, but left prior to speaking to police, to please come forward. Officers are also appealing to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area at the time to please come forward.

The Cobourg Police Service is asking anyone with information to contact Constable Abigail Amos #286 by calling 905-372-6821, ext. 7286, or to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS or leave an anonymous tip online at www.1800222tips.com.

The vehicle that collided with the pedestrian remained at the scene.
