Northumberland OPP – Collision Results In Impaired Charges

Members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision just before 6:00 pm involving two vehicles on Bridge Street West in the town of Campbellford on January 7, 2020.

A Red Chevrolet hatchback sedan collided with a Black Cadillac SUV that was parked in front of an address on Bridge Street West. Significant damage was sustained to both vehicles but no injuries were sustained.

As a result of the investigation Stephen FRUDD (age 81) of Trent Hills, Ontario was arrested and charged with:

· Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentraton (80 plus)

The accused additionally received several charges under the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on February 12, 2020.
