The Town of Cobourg is pleased to announce the December 16 opening – weather permitting – of the Rotary Harbourfront Outdoor Rink for the winter season.

Offering another season of free outdoor skating, the rink is located at 35 Albert St. and will be operational daily (weather permitting) from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The adjacent transit shelter is also open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. for a space to lace up skates and use the washroom facilities.

The town’s announcement contained a reminder of the rules that apply.

No hockey sticks or pucks are allowed.

Using the rink without ice skates is prohibited.

All skaters must leave the rink during ice-maintenance activities.

Keep pets off the ice.

Please be considerate of noise levels and respect the rights of all skaters.

Absolutely no alcohol or smoking.

Temporary closures of the rink that occur during the season will be posted on the town’s website (www.cobourg.ca) as well as on its Facebook and Twitter social-media pages.
