21st Annual Candlelight Walk in Support of Breast Cancer Research

In Upcoming Events

On Friday September 27th, 2019 the 21st annual Candlelight Walk in Support of Breast Cancer Research takes place at Port Hope United Church.

September is almost here and once again, it is time for the 21st annual Canadian Cancer Society’s Candlelight Walk for Breast Cancer research.

The Canadian Cancer Society has partnered with The Survivor Thrivers Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Team as they celebrate their 20 year anniversary, to organize and promote the Candlelight Walk. The Survivor Thrivers have a long history of giving back to the community while sharing their message of hope and demonstrating that there is life after breast cancer.

All Breast Cancer Survivors…those who have completed their journey, those who are in the midst of treatment, and those who are newly diagnosed will be honoured. As well, caregivers, be it family or friends who have and continue to offer support and love, will be acknowledged and honoured at the walk.

Pledge sheets for the walk will be available in Port Hope at Racine Law Professional Corporation, Kenneth Bell Fashion Accessories & Hepburn Jewellers and in Cobourg at the NHH Chemotherapy Clinic, the Cobourg Library, the Buttermilk Café, York Super Pharmacy, & the YMCA.

Anyone who would like to show some love is encouraged to join these courageous survivors as they walk to raise funds in support of breast cancer research. We are all STRONGER TOGETHER.
Registration begins at 6 p.m. with the walk commencing at 7 p.m.
