Durham Police – Female Passenger Critically Injured in ATV Collision

A 27-year-old female passenger sustained life-threatening injuries after an ATV collision in Clarington Sunday evening.

On Sunday, August 11, 2019, at approximately 6:20 p.m., members of East Division were dispatched to a serious motor vehicle collision involving an ATV near a private residence on Reid Road in Clarington. The 24-year-old male driver of the ATV was heading back to the residence when the ATV lost control and flipped on top of the driver and passenger. Witnesses were able to free the victims.

The driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The passenger was air-lifted by air ambulance to a trauma centre in Toronto where she remains in critical condition.

The driver and passenger were not wearing helmets at the time of the collision.
