Over 80mg Arrest:

A 35-year-old Peterborough man has been charged following a traffic stop.

On March 21, 2018 at approximately 2:15 a.m. an officer on patrol in the area of Hunter and Donegal Streets conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle with an expired validation sticker.While speaking with the driver of the vehicle the officer noted an odour of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver’s breath. A subsequent breath test revealed the driver had more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system while operating a motor vehicle.As a result of the investigation David Searle, 35, of Albertus Avenue, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with more than 80mgs blood alcohol content.The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 12, 2018.

 

Domestic Assault Arrest:

A 33-year-old Peterborough man has been charged with domestic assault following an investigation.

On March 23, 2018 police received information regarding a domestic assault that had taken place that day at a Peterborough residence.

On the night of March 23, 2018 officers attended a Peterborough home where, as a result of the investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with domestic assault.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 19, 2018.The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident.

 

Annual Easter Tolls for Special Olympics:

Uniformed officers along with civilian members of the Peterborough Police Service, Police volunteers, and Police foundation students will be at the exits at many retail locations in Peterborough this weekend for the 22nd Annual Easter Tolls for Special Olympics.

During the tolls donations will be collected to support Special Olympics Ontario and in particular the 2018 School Championships being held in Peterborough May 29-31, 2018. Any donation is greatly appreciated!

The tolls will take place on Saturday March 31, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Lansdowne Place Mall
  • Morellos/Willowcreek Plaza
  • Walmart on Chemong Road
  • Walmart/Freshco/Parkway Centre
  • Canadian Tire/Sobeys/Summit Plaza
