Northumberland OPP Investigate Break and Enters

Members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have responded to reported break and enters throughout Northumberland County from May 13-16, 2019.

On May 13, 2019 a resident who resides on Wallace Jibb Road in Hamilton Township reported to police that his unlocked garage was entered during the overnight hours of May 12, 2019 while they were away camping. Reported stolen is a 33 gallon electric red Craftsman air compressor, a green gas powered Yardman whipper snipper and various hand tools.

Just before 8:30 am on May 14, 2019, a delivery person for a business on County Road 28 contacted police after he arrived at the location and found it to be insecure. The interior of the business had been rummaged through and a cash register had been removed containing an undisclosed amount of cash. It is believed the suspect entered the business at approximately 1:00 am wearing a camo hoodie, a mask and gloves.

On May 15, 2019 a yellow 10 speed bike was reported stolen from a shed on a residential property on Dale Road between Burnham Street and Behan Court in Hamilton Township. The theft is believed to have occurred during the overnight hours on Monday May 13, 2019.

On May 16, 2019 the owner of a residence on Concession Road 3 in the Municipality of Trent Hills reported to police it had been entered. Items reported stolen include a Yardworks lawn mower and an antique telephone table. The thefts are believed to have occurred between the dates of May 4-12, 2019.

Northumberland OPP is asking for the public’s assistance with these ongoing investigations and would ask that anyone with information on these crimes call their nearest OPP detachment.
