Cobourg Police – Male Arrested for Assault With a Weapon

On Thursday, April 25th, 2019 at approximately 2:59 p.m., the Cobourg Police responded to report of a male having pulled a knife on two people and threatening to stab them, before fleeing the scene on foot. Shortly after being dispatched, police located the suspect and placed him under arrest. Jacob BISSONNETTE, 18 years old, of Cobourg was held for a bail hearing and charged with the following offences:

1) Theft Under $5000 contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code
2) Assault with a weapon contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code
3) Utter threats to person contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
4) Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose contrary to section 88(1) of the Criminal Code
5) Fail to comply with probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code
