A Northumberland Hills Hospital surgical team will be part of the Enhanced Recovery Canada project of the Canadian Patient Safety Institute.
Vice-president of patient services and chief nursing executive Susan Walsh made the announcement at the hospital’s April board meeting, saying 12 teams are accepted each year.
“Essentially, the program is designed to highlight surgical best practices and implement a number of evidence-based principles to get better outcomes,” Walsh told the board.
The team from NHH will have Dr. Kaes Al-Ali as its physician lead.
