From the 25th day of March, 2019 through to the 31st day of March, 2019 the Cobourg Police Service responded to 203 occurrences including; 19 Community Service calls, 19 Police Assistance calls, 2 Traffic Complaints, 1 Fraud call, 9 Suspicious Person calls, 4 Police Information calls, 8 Property Related calls, 2 Assault calls, 3 Break and Enter Calls, 6 – 911 calls, 10 Theft calls, 10 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 2 Liquor License Act calls, 9 Alarm calls, 10 Harassment calls, 4 Disturb the Peace calls, 3 Threats calls, 1 Noise complaint, 3 Domestic Dispute call, 4 Family Dispute calls, 2 Attempt or Threat of Suicide, 7 Mischief calls, 1 weapons call.
Monday, March 25th, 2019:
On Monday the 25th, 2019, at approximately 12:30 pm, police on patrol observed a male who was known to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest held by the Cobourg Police Service. Police subsequently arrested 40 year old Chad JENKINS of the Town of Cobourg. JENKINS is charged with theft under $5000.00 and Possession of Property obtained by Crime under the Criminal Code. Jenkins is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in May of 2019.
On Monday the 25th of March, 2019 police received a report of “tagging” on the bathroom doors inside the bus shelter located at Albert Street in the Town of Cobourg. With the assistance of the public and social media two males identified, as 20 year old Tiernan McKenna and 18 year old Ethan Markland both of Cobourg were arrested and charged with the offence of mischief under the Criminal Code. McKenna and MARKLAND are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in May of 2019.
Police investigated a report of an intrusion alarm at local business located in the east end of Cobourg at approximately 6:30pm. Officers attended and conducted a search of the area. Officers determined the alarm was unfounded. Everything was in order.
Tuesday, March 26th, 2019:
On Tuesday the 26th day of March 2019, at approximately 12:30 pm, Officers of the Ontario Provincial Police Service located a male sought by the Cobourg Police Service on the strength of an outstanding arrest warrant. As a result of a subsequent investigation, 30 year old Ryan Easson of the Town of Cobourg was arrested and charged with failing to comply with Probation under the Criminal Code. Easson is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in May of 2019.
On Tuesday the 26th day of March 2019, at approximately 9:00 am, the Cobourg Police Service was notified that a male currently sought by the Cobourg Police Service on the strength of an outstanding arrest warrant had been located in the City of Milton. The male identified as 43 year old Jeffery EUGENIO of Colborne, was transported to the Town of Cobourg, where he was arrested and charged with failing to comply with Probation under the Criminal Code. EUGENIO was later released, scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in May of 2019
Officers responded at an address in the downtown core after receiving report of a possible fire inside the building. Information provided indicated that smoke had been observed, and the audible fire alarms could be heard. Officers attended and learned that a fire had resulted after a candle had been left burning unattended. Fire was extinguished with the assistance of the Cobourg Fire Department. Minor damage reported. No person(s) were injured.
Wednesday, March 27, 2019
Wednesday March 27th, 2019 at approximately 12:00pm, a woman was robbed and sexually assaulted by an unknown male in the parking lot of a local business. The male was described as about 6 feet tall, wearing black shoes, dark blue jeans, dark jacket and a dark coloured baseball hat. The Cobourg Police investigation is ongoing. If anyone has any information regarding this crime, please contact the Cobourg Police Service at 905372-6821 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Officers on general patrol observed a female who was currently sought by the Cobourg Police Service on the strength of an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The female, identified as 25 year old Raylee LEWIS of Kingston was subsequently arrested for the offence of failing to comply with probation under the Criminal Code. LEWIS is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in May of 2019.

At approximately 4:45 pm Officers attended a business located in the downtown core, after receiving a report of a theft from the premise. Police investigation determined that a theft of merchandise had occurred when the suspect failed to scan items at the self-checkout. Investigation continues.
Police responded to a report of a two vehicle collision in the area of Thomas Street at approximately 5:00pm. No parties injured. As a result of subsequent Police investigation one driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act.
Police responded to the area of William Street, after being notified of an alleged fire observed in the viscidly of the railway tracks. Officer attended and conducted an extensive patrol of the area. No fire observed. Everything was in order.

Police attended a business located in the north end of Cobourg, at approximately 2:00am in response to an intrusion alarm. The premise was patrolled, everything appeared to be secure. Alarm determined to be false.
Police responded to a report of a two vehicle collision in the area of Elgin Street at approximately 9:00am. No parties injured. As a result of subsequent Police investigation one driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act.
Officers attended a local business located in a west end neighborhood, regarding an alleged shoplift. Officers spoke staff and learned that the suspect had exited the premise with merchandise concealed on his person. Investigation continues.

Police attended a business located in the down town core at approximately 3:00am in response to an intrusion alarm. Officer conducted a search of the premise, everything appeared to be secure. Alarm determined to be false.
At approximately 4:30pm Officers conducted a foot patrol in the downtown core. Everything appeared to be in order.
At 7:45pm Officers responded to an address in the downtown core, after receiving a report of a female observed lying on the roadway. Officers attended and located the involved female who was subsequently transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital for further medical assistance.

At approximately 1:00pm Officers responded to a report of a theft of a bicycle from an east end residence. Police investigation revealed that sometime overnight on Wednesday the 27th day of March 2019 a bicycle was removed from an unlock garage. No suspects.
On Sunday the 31st of March 2019, an Officer conducted a traffic stop in an east end neighborhood after observing a motor vehicle which appeared to be travelling at a high rate of speed. The driver was travelling at 117 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. As a result of police investigation, 39 year old Richard Anderson of Roseneath was charged with Stunt Driving Contrary to sec.172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act and Fail to Have Insurance Card, contrary to Section 3(1) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance.
On Sunday the 31st of March, 2019, at approximately 9:00pm, Officers received a complaint of ongoing harassment over social media. As a result of Police investigation 27 year old Ashley Ouellette of Cobourg was arrested and charged with Criminal harassment under the Criminal Code. Ouellette was later released scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in May of 2019.
