Special Needs Shinny Wraps Up The Season In Port Hope

In Hockey

Message from Sarah Orr who is the organizer of Shinny Hockey at the Jack Burger Sports Complex as the the first year of Special Needs Hockey wrapped up at the Jack Burger Sports Complex on March 17, 2019.  After hockey everyone celebrated a successful season and St. Patrick’s Day by having pizza.

“As the hockey season comes to an end, I reflect on the incredible season we just had,

I’m so thankful our kids were given this opportunity to play on a team that believes fully in inclusion.

Everyone has a place in our team. No matter what your individual needs are.

The friendships they’ve grown, the pride they’ve felt in themselves and each other, the positive way they cheer each other on.

Watching them grow as players and a team, is so touching and heartwarming to be a part of.

These kids play hockey with their hearts, their whole hearts and it is the most inspiring thing to watch.

I’m truly blessed to have been given the opportunity to be a part of something so special.

This is what hockey is all about!”
