Below is a summary of key items discussed at the Municipality of Port Hope regular Council Meeting held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 and the Public Meeting that was held for the Mason Homes Phase 4 proposed subdivision, held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Swearing-in of Karen O’Hara as Councillor, Ward 1 Council for the Municipality of Port Hope appointed Karen O’Hara as the Councillor representing Ward 1 for the Municipality of Port Hope, for the remainder of the Term of Council. Councillor O’Hara has assumed the role of Chair of the Corporate Services Committee and, at the meeting, Council voted to appoint her to be the Council representative for the West Northumberland Physician Recruitment Committee.
Public Meeting for Mason Homes Phase 4 Proposed Subdivision The Planning Committee held a public meeting concerning a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment and a proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision for Mason Homes Phase 4 of the Lakeside Village Community in the Municipality of Port Hope.
The purpose of the public meeting was for the Planning Committee to inform the public of the proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision application that will facilitate the development of 166 lots for 166 single detached dwellings in a freehold tenure on the subject lands referred to as Phase 4 of the Lakeside Village Community. The proposed plan includes an extension of Strachan Street to Victoria Street South.
Planning Manager Theodhora Merepeza provided a staff presentation of the project, and a representative of Mason Homes responded with a presentation from the Developer. Members of Council as well as members of the public were invited to make oral submissions and the Committee passed a motion to refer all public meeting submissions to a future Committee of the Whole meeting for consideration.

Minutes from the Regular Council meeting will be available pending approval at the next Council meeting on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at which point they will become the official record of the meeting.
