Unusual Incident On Highway 401 At Brighton

In Police Blotter

A unusual incident along Highway 401 in Brighton on January 29, 2019.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. a transport truck was parked on the eastbound off-ramp, partially on the live lanes of the highway.
An OPP officer advised the driver to continue on, as plows were trying to clear the snow from the highway.
It appears the driver of the transport attempted to do a u-turn shortly after entering the median area of the highway before becoming stuck in the snow.
A tow company was called in to assist in the removal of the fully loaded transport from the median.
Shortly after the driver went into medical distress and paramedics and Brighton Fire Department responded to the scene.
The driver taken from the scene by ambulance and his condition is unknown.
