Cobourg has a Christmas Magic Hero!

In Editorial

It would seem Bruce Moore has been able to get Christmas Magic back where it belongs – Victoria Park.
Everyone loved it there. Everyone wanted it there. The notion that the trees needed a break and the display was causing to much stress didn’t fly from the start.
Since 2015 it has been between the Rotary Harbourfront Park and the harbour. It may have been “nice” and it may have been worth a try but it should have never been kept there beyond the first year.
Previous members of Council and the mayor should have spoken up publicly and done this long before 2018. They knew very well people weren’t happy.
It would be nice to have lights around the outdoor rink during Christmas Magic, but the vast majority of Christmas lights will hopefully go back where they belong.
Credit goes to Bruce Moore and his Facebook survey where more than 1,200 of 1,300 people wanted it back in Victoria Park. New members of council and Mayor John Henderson should also be commended.
It’s a pity it took this long to right a wrong, but better late than never and bring on Christmas Magic 2019.
