Cobourg Police – Roseneath Man Facing Charges Following Child Luring Investigation (Name Released)

In Police Blotter

A Roseneath man is facing charges following a police investigation into alleged child luring and child sexual abuse material offences.

In August 2026, the Cobourg Police Service Criminal Investigation Bureau initiated an investigation after receiving a report involving alleged child luring, invitation to sexual touching, making sexually explicit material available to a child, and possession of child sexual abuse material.

As a result of the investigation, on October 26, 2026, 34-year-old Cody HOLTZ was arrested and charged with:

• three counts of Child Luring

• three counts of Invitation to Sexual Touching

• one count of Making Sexual Explicit Material Available to a Child

• one count of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material

The accused was held in custody pending a show cause hearing.

Reports of online child exploitation can also be made to Canada’s national tipline for reporting the online sexual exploitation of children, Cybertip.ca.

Cobourg Police Service reminds everyone that there is no statute of limitations for sexual offences, and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence. A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. Police encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police.
