Peterborough Police – Man Tries to Flee Courthouse (No Name Released)

A 30-year-old Peterborough wanted on a warrant is facing a new charge after attempting to flee from police Wednesday.

At approximately 3:50pm on April 22, 2026, the man attended the courthouse and was advised of the warrant for fraud under $5000, fail to attend for fingerprints – as per undertaking, theft under $5000 X4, disobeying order of court X4, failure to attend court while on release order, fail to comply with appearance notice – court/fingerprinting, and uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm. When the man learned he was under arrest, he fled the courthouse on foot.  The officer gave chase while officers on general patrol in the downtown assisted.  The man was caught in the Water Street and King Street area and taken into custody.

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:

  • Resist Peace Officer

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, April 23, 2026.
