In Police Blotter

The driver of a snowplow suffered non-life threatening injuries after the plow flipped on its side north of Colborne on Monday, January 12, 2026.

At approximately 2:20 p.m. emergency services were dispatched to County Road 25, approximately one kilometre north of Highway 401 for the overturned snowplow.

A off-duty Cramahe Township firefighter came upon the collision and helped extricate the driver of the overturned snowplow.

The snowplow was heading south on County Road 25 placing brine on the roadway when the plow struck a patch of ice sending the vehicle sideways.

When the plow hit the shoulder of the roadway, it flipped on its side. The tank carrying the brine dislodged from the plow and went into the ditch.

The driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Environment were contacted.

County Road 25 in the area of the collision was closed for approximately 30-minutes.
