Durham Police – Double Fatality Following Collision in Beaverton

Two passengers have succumbed to their injuries after a vehicle collision in Beaverton.

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., member of North Division responded to a collision involving a tractor trailer and a small SUV on Regional Road 15 between Simcoe Street and Thorah Side Road.

A commercial tractor trailer was reversing into a private driveway off of Regional Road 15, with its trailer across the width of the roadway, when it was struck by a Toyota SUV travelling eastbound on Regional Road 15.

There were three occupants in the Toyota. The driver, a 72-year-old male, was transported to a local-area hospital with serious injuries and subsequently transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre. An 88-year-old male passenger was transported a local-area hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries. A 71-year-old female passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 44-year-old male driver of the tractor trailer remained on scene and cooperated with police. He did not sustain any physical injuries.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
