Cobourg Man Charged with Uttering Threats, x3 Fail to Comply
A 33-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police responded to a report of threats.
On September 12, 2025, police were called to a downtown business for a report that a staff member was verbally threatened by a male loitering in the parking lot after staff asked him to leave the property.
Police located the male a short time later. As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Uttering Death Threats and three counts of Failure to Comply with Probation. The male was held for a bail hearing.
Cobourg Man Charged with Theft, Fail To Stop After Collision and Dangerous Operation
A 33-year-old Cobourg man is facing theft and driving-related offences.
On September 14, 2025, Cobourg Police Service received a call regarding a theft from a business on Elgin Street East in the Town of Cobourg. Police learned that a man had left the business without paying for merchandise. When confronted by an employee, the man attempted to flee in his vehicle, causing a collision between the suspect vehicle and a parked car. He almost struck the employee and then left the area at a dangerous speed from the parking lot.
The investigating officer observed the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle was identified as the suspect involved.
As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old man from Cobourg was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5,000, Possession of Property obtained by crime under $5,000, Failure to stop after an accident, and Dangerous Operation.
The male was later released with a future court date.
