Notice of Accessibility Improvements at Cobourg Police Station

COBOURG (September 12, 2025) – The Cobourg Police Service is beginning important accessibility improvements to the police station starting the week of September 22, 2025. These upgrades will make the facility more accessible and welcoming for all community members.

What You Need to Know

  • The station will remain open during the regular hours of operation throughout the improvement project.
  • East Entrance Open: Beginning the week of September 22, the east entrance (side entrance) will become the temporary public entrance to the station.
  • A temporary accessibility plan has been established for individuals requiring assistance to access the station with staff support.
  • Front Entrance Closed: The current front entrance will be closed while construction of a new accessible ramp takes place.
  • Sidewalk Closure: The sidewalk in front of the station will be closed. A temporary walkway will be created on the roadway to ensure safe access.
  • Parking Closure: Parking spaces directly in front of the station will not be available during construction.

Project Timeline

  • Work is scheduled to begin the week of September 22, 2025.
  • The majority of the project is expected to be completed by the end of November 2025.

Staying Informed

The Cobourg Police Service and the Town of Cobourg will share updates throughout the construction period. Clear signage will be posted at the station to guide visitors to the alternate entrance.

Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday – Closed

*Closed on statutory Holidays.
