Peterborough County OPP – Fatal Motorcycle Collision in Douro-Dummer Township

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews are currently on scene of a single motorcycle collision on County Road 6 in Douro-Dummer.

Just after 6:00am on Friday September 5, 2025, the Peterborough County OPP received a call from a passerby reporting a motorcycle that was in the ditch and an individual laying nearby. Officers along with other First Responders arrived on scene shortly after and closed County Road 6 between Douro 4th Line and Douro 5th Line. Officers located a black touring style motorcycle in the ditch and the individual a short distance away from it.

A 38-year-old male from Douro-Dummer Township has been confirmed as deceased at the scene.

It is believed that the collision took place some time between 8:00pm and 9:00pm on Thursday September 4, 2025.

Officers are looking to speak with anyone who may have dashcam footage or may have witnessed the crash and have not yet spoken with police.

County Road 6 will remain closed while emergency crews deal with the collision and police members trained in collision reconstruction, measure and document the scene. Please avoid the area and expect delays.
