Breaking News – Stolen Northumberland County Ambulance Recovered in Colborne

Northumberland OPP are searching for a suspect who stole a Northumberland County ambulance late Sunday evening.

On Sunday, August 17, 2025 at approximately 11:40 p.m. Northumberland OPP were dispatched to the area of William Street for reports of a stolen ambulance.

Northumberland County Paramedics were at a call for service when the ambulance was stolen.

The ambulance was recovered approximately one-kilometre away on Ontario Street at Baldwin Place.

It appeared the ambulance was heading north and entered the west ditch.  The driver fled the scene.

Members of the OPP Emergency Response Team along with a canine unit searched the area extensively, but there was no sign of the suspect.

Today’s Northumberland will provide further updates when they become available.
