Cobourg Woman Arrest on Warrant

A 41-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges after being arrested on a warrant.

On July 18, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., police on patrol in the area of University Avenue West and Ball Street in the town of Cobourg Police, observed a woman wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Police arrested the 41-year-old Cobourg woman. During the arrest, police located a quantity of Fentanyl. As a result, the accused was charged with failing to attend court and possession of a schedule 1 substance. The accused was released on an Undertaking with a future court date.

Cobourg Man Charged with Impaired on E-Bike

A 60-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges for impaired operation.

On July 18, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., police responded to Division Street in the Town of Cobourg for a report of a man operating an e-bike while impaired.

Police located the man in downtown Cobourg. As a result of the investigation, the 60-year-old Cobourg man was arrested for operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus). The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.

In Canada, e-bikes are classified as motor vehicles and operating an e-bike while impaired can lead to charges under the Criminal Code. The Cobourg Police Service encourages the public to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911. Impaired driving is the leading criminal cause of death and injury in Canada, yet every impaired driving crash is preventable. By calling 911 and reporting suspected impaired drivers to the police, everyone can play a role in keeping roads and waterways safe. Always plan for a safe ride home, designate a sober driver, or call a friend, a relative, or a cab.

Cobourg Woman Charged with Theft

A 26-year-old Cobourg woman is facing charges following a theft investigation.

On July 19, 2025, police responded to a theft at an east-end residence. The complainant reported observing a female removing a wagon from their backyard through their home’s CCTV. Police reviewed the footage, and a suspect was identified.

On July 20, 2025, the suspect was located in the downtown core. As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old Cobourg woman was charged with Theft Under $5,000, Possession of property obtained by Crime Under $5,000, and two counts of Failing to Comply with Probation. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Cobourg Man Charged with Assault

Man facing intimate partner violence charges after police responded to a disturbance Saturday.

On July 19, 2025, police responded to a report of a male and female engaged in an altercation in the area of Division Street and Densmore Road in Cobourg. Callers reported hearing a female yelling for help and observed the man push her to the ground.

As a result of the police investigation, a 47-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with assault – spousal. The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Cobourg Man Charged with Theft, Assault

A 28-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police responded to a shoplifting in progress.

On July 20, 2025, police responded to a shoplifting call from a business on Division Street in Cobourg. The male suspect had been previously trespassed from the property. The man had pushed a staff member.

As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old man from Cobourg was charged with Theft Under $5,000, Possession of Property obtained by Crime Under $ 5,000, Assault, and entering premises when prohibited. The accused was later released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
