Kodiaks Falls to Excelsiors in Brampton in Major Series Lacrosse Action

In Sports

The Cobourg Kodiaks lost their fourth straight Major Series Lacrosse game Thursday night 16-9 to the host Brampton Excelsiors.

It was just the second win of the season for the Excelsiors, which led the Kodiaks 6-4 after one period and 11-7 after two to improve to 2-13-0. Alex Marinier had three goals and an assist for the Kodiaks.

Cobourg (6-10-0) had a recent three-game winning streak prior to the losing skid and are tied for fourth in points with the Owen Sound North Stars in the seven-team MSL standings with two games to play, but the North Stars have a game in hand.

The Kodiaks and Excelsiors will meet again Sunday, but this time at the Jack Burger Sports Complex in Port Hope. Game time is 6 p.m.

The venue change occurs late season every year for the Kodiaks when ice returns to the Cobourg Community Centre bowl arena.
