MNRF Officers Keeping An Eye On Area Waterways

In Editor Choice, Local, Photo Gallery

Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry Officers were patrolling the Ganaraska River in Port Hope on Saturday, September 29, 2018.

This is the last weekend for salmon fishing and a number of anglers were taking advantage of the weather along the river.

On Saturday, MNRF officers charged a number of people with fishing violations.  At least two people had their equipment and fish seized and were charged accordingly.

With the number of salmon along the river, a number of anglers accidentally hooked the fish.  Where Today’s Northumberland was viewing the anglers, the fish that were hooked improperly were returned to the river.
