OPP – Motorcycle Collision Results in Fatality on Highway 401 at Oshawa

Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Highway Safety Division (HSD) – Whitby Detachment, are investigating motor vehicle collision that resulted in one fatality.

On Wednesday June 4, 2025, at 5:48 a.m., the Whitby OPP were called to a collision on eastbound Highway 401, east of Harmony Road, in the City of Oshawa. A motorcycle collided with the rear of a tractor trailer.

The motorcycle rider, a 25-year- old from Pickering, was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

No other injuries are reported, and no other vehicles were involved.

Highway 401 eastbound lanes from Harmony Rd to Courtice Rd were closed for the investigation.

The OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
