Belleville Police – Incidents Include Breach of Conditions, Arrested on Warrant

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 157 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on May 6, 2025 to 5:00 am on May 7, 2025.

Breach of Release Conditions
Belleville Police located a 17-year-old male walking on Grier Street Tuesday evening around 7:30pm. After confirming the identity of the individual, police discovered he was on a Release Order stemming from previous criminal charges issued in December 2024. The suspect was bound by conditions, not to be away from his residence and not to possess a cell phone. The teen, whose identity cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with two counts of failing to comply with Release Order and held for a bail hearing.

Arrested on Warrant
Belleville Police were called to a Bell Blvd business on the 6th of May shortly before 9:00pm regarding shoplifters. During their investigation, police learned that one of the suspects was the subject of an arrest warrant for a criminal offence which took place in October 2024. As a result, 21-year-old Joey Belanger of Belleville was arrested on the strength of the outstanding arrest warrant for Mischief under $5000 and released with a court date in June 2025.
