Port Hope Police – Significant Fentanyl Seizure After Suspect Searched at Police Station (Name Released)

A 55-year-old Cobourg male was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant by Port Hope Police, related to a shoplifting offence. The arrest occurred with the assistance of members from the Cobourg Police Service.

Following his arrest, the accused was transported to the Port Hope Police station where a search was conducted and led to the discovery of approximately 50 grams of suspected illicit Fentanyl.

As a result of the investigation, Ricky Watt has been charged with the following offences:

  • Theft Under $5,000 (Shoplifting)
  • Breach of Probation x5
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (x2)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Watt was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
