Belleville Police – Incidents Include Drug Charges, Domestic Assault, Mischief

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 73 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on March 17, 2025 to 5:00 am on March 18, 2025.

Traffic stop leads to drug charges for three men
On the 17th of March at 10:38pm, Belleville Police stopped a vehicle on Pinnacle St. While speaking to the occupants, police observed open liquor in the vehicle. Police searched the vehicle and further located a quantity of cocaine and codeine pills. Following the investigation, police arrested and charged three men. Each person was charged with two counts of possession of a substance included in Schedule I for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act. Brody Spencer, 24-years-old of Shannonville and Connor Cruickshank, 24-years-old of Wellington were both released on an Undertaking with a court date in April. The third male, who is 25-years-old from Belleville was held for a bail hearing.

Domestic Assault
On the 17th of March shortly after 7pm, a resident in the city’s east end looked out her window and observed an ex-boyfriend passed out on her porch in a rocking chair. Concerned for his well-being, the female went to speak to him. The male became uncooperative. Two neighbours observed the commotion and came over to assist the female. The ex-boyfriend began to physically assault the female. Both neighbours then physically subdued the ex-boyfriend and restrained him until police arrived. Following the investigation, police arrested and charged a 34-year-old Belleville man with assault and being intoxicated in a public place. He was held for a bail hearing.

Mischief
On the 17th of March at 10:30pm, police were called to a residence in the city’s west end after a female reported that her ex-boyfriend just kicked in her front door and then took off in a vehicle. Police searched the area and located the vehicle nearby. Police arrested and charged a 27-year-old Belleville man with mischief. He was held for a bail hearing.
