Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Fraud (No Name Released)

A 32-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police responded to a theft from a vehicle Monday morning.

On Monday, February 17, police were dispatched to the area of Walton Street and University Avenue for a reported theft. The complainant advised that their wallet was taken from their car sometime overnight and that there were charges on their credit cards. The investigating officer attended the businesses where the purchases were made and identified a suspect.

As a result, a 32-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with fraud under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
