Belleville Police Service – Incidents Include Fraudulent Use of Credit Card, Breach, Suspended Driver

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 89 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on January 13, 2025 to 5:00 am on January 14, 2025.

Fraudulent use of credit card and breach of probation
On the 13th of January at 1:30pm, Belleville Police attended two downtown business stores regarding a male who had made purchases using a stolen credit card at both locations. Through their investigation, police were able to obtain a description of the suspect. Later that day at 4:30pm, while on patrol, officers observed the suspect and arrested him without incident. Police further determined that the suspect was breaching a condition of his probation. As a result of the investigation, 42-year-old Nathan Jacobs of no fixed address was charged with two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and breach of probation. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in February.

Thurlow traffic enforcement leads to suspended driver
On the 13th of January at 10:30am, an officer conducting speed enforcement on Harmony Rd stopped a vehicle which was traveling at 31km/h over the posted speed limit. The subsequent investigation revealed that the driver was suspended. A 30-year-old male from Picton was charged with driving while suspended and speeding. He was issued a summons for a traffic court date in March.
