Another person has been charged in relation to an assault which occurred at Warkworth Institution that resulted in an individual being transported to hospital.
On July 18, 2024, shortly before 7:00 p.m., the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an assault at the facility, involving a number of individuals
The incident, which occurred earlier in the day, resulted in one person being transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged one of the parties involved on November 7, 2024.
On November 14, 2024, officers arrested a second person in relation to the occurrence.
A 29-year-old, from Loyalist Township, has been charged with:
– Aggravated assault.
On November 26, 2024 , OPP arrested a third person involved in the incident.
A 29-year-old, from Agassiz, British Columbia, has been charged with:
– Aggravated assault.
The accused were held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
