City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – Speeding Offence Leads to Drug Trafficking Charges (Names Released)

Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into a drug trafficking investigation following a traffic stop for speeding on November 18, 2024.

An officer on patrol observed a motor vehicle speeding southbound on Pigeon Lake Road at 2:45pm. A traffic stop was conducted where the officer entered into a drug possession investigation.  Through investigation the driver and two passengers were arrested and charged with Cr iminal Code, Cannabis Control Act and Highway Traffic Act offences.

Rhianna Whitman-Davis, 30-year-old of Peterborough, was charged with:

  • Speeding 1-49km/h over posted limit
  • Drive Vehicle or Boat with Cannabis Readily Available
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000

Tayler Hancock, 35-year-old of Peterborough was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
