Cobourg Police – Two Cobourg Men Face Multiple Charges (No Names Released)

Two Cobourg men face multiple charges after police arrest on outstanding warrants in downtown Cobourg on Friday morning as part of the Warrant Apprehension and Bail Compliance project.

On Friday, November 15, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m., officers observed a man wanted on two outstanding warrants on Buck Street in Cobourg.

Upon arrest, the man was found to be in possession of a prohibited weapon (brass knuckles) and an amount of suspected fentanyl.

As a result of the police investigation, the 36-year-old Cobourg man was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a Schedule 1 substance, and two counts of fail to comply with probation.

The accused was held for a bail hearing today.

Later, at approximately 10:00 a.m., a man wanted on the strength of an outstanding warrant was observed by police in the area of King Street East and McGill Street in Cobourg.

Officers advised the man that he was under arrest, the man ripped open a bag of suspected cocaine and threw it in the face of one of the officers.

Police were able to gain control of the accused and handcuff him.

During a search incident to arrest, police located a small container of suspected heroin.

The officer was treated by paramedics on scene.

As a result, the 44-year-old Cobourg man is charged with two counts of failing to comply with probation, two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance, and obstructing a peace officer.

The accused was held for a Show Cause Hearing.
