Northumberland OPP – One Person Charged with Assault at Warkworth Institution (No Name Released)

One person has been charged in relation to an assault which occurred at the Warkworth Institution.

On July 26, 2024, OPP received a report regarding an altercation which had occurred the previous day involving two individuals. The incident resulted in one individual being transported to a local hospital with non-life-altering injuries.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested one of the parties involved on November 14, 2024.

A 29-year-old male, from Loyalist Township, has been charged with:

–       Assault with a weapon

–       Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
