Belleville Police Service – Incidents Include Mischief, Indecent Communications, Drug Arrests (Names Released)

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 86 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on 7 November, 2024 to 5:00 am on 8 November, 2024.

Mischief
On 7 November, 2024, at 0615am, Belleville Police were called to a Cannifton Road address for a report of mischief. As a result, Ian Frappier, 41, of Belleville was arrested for mischief under $5000 and breach of probation. Later in the day, police investigated a complaint of a break and enter at a central Belleville apartment building. The same male was the suspect in this incident as well, and was additionally charged with break and enter and breach of probation. The male was held in custody.

Indecent communications
On the 7th of November, 2024 the Belleville Police Service uniform patrol arrested 31-year-old Mathew Baker of Belleville on an outstanding warrant for three counts of indecent communications.

In July of 2024, the Belleville Police Criminal Investigations Division initiated an investigation into a number of suspicious incidents involving a male leaving notes in mailbox and subsequently sending indecent communications through electronic means. Police identified Mathew Baker who has been charged and released with a 5 December, 2024 court date.

Drugs
Shortly after midnight on 8 November 2024, Belleville Police stopped a vehicle in the area of Highway 62 and Millennium Parkway for stunt driving. As a result of observations made by police, both of the occupants were arrested. A 47-year-old Trenton woman was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (suspected fentanyl) and (suspected cocaine) as well as weapons dangerous. A 38 year-old male of no fixed address was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (suspected Fentanyl and cocaine), possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (suspected fentanyl and cocaine), weapons dangerous, possess weapons contrary to an order, obstruct peace officer, stunt driving, drive while prohibited (x2), drive motor vehicle with no insurance and operate a vehicle with open alcohol. The male was also wanted by neighboring police services. Both were held in custody for show cause hearings on 8 November, 2024.
As a result of a traffic stop police seized:
· 16.7 grams suspected fentanyl;
· 18.3 grams suspected cocaine;
· two CO2 replica handguns;
· knives;
· drug paraphernalia;
· cell phones;
· open liquor.
