Belleville Police – Belleville Man Facing Numerous Drug Charges (Name Released)

On 6 November, 2024, members of Project Renewal with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit and the K9 Unit executed a search warrant at a Front Street apartment. The investigators seized the following items:

· 282.2 grams of Fentanyl

· 24.1 grams of Cocaine

· $5005 Canadian Currency (Plus $579 on his person) – Total $5584

· $20 USD

· Digital Scales

· Packaging material

· A Crossbow

· An air javelin (CO2 powered gun that shoots arrows)

· 4 pellet guns resembling real handguns

Matt Cvancic, 35, of Belleville was arrested and charged with the following offences:

1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – Sec 5(2) CDSA

2. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Sec 5(2) CDSA

3. Proceeds of crime under $5000 – Sec. 354(1)(b) CC

4. Possession of a weapon contrary to Prohibition Order – Sec. 117.01(1) CC

Cvancic was held for a bail hearing on 7 November, 2024
