Northumberland OPP – Hamilton Township Man Charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (Name Released)

In Police Blotter

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have recovered a stolen vehicle and charged a suspended driver.

On November 1, 2024, shortly after 4:00 p.m., police were conducting speed enforcement on County Road 45, when an officer observed a vehicle reverse out of a driveway to the roadway and then return forward towards the residence.

The officer believed the driver to be suspended, and OPP entered into an investigation into the circumstances regarding the incident. Through investigative measures, the vehicle, which was being driven by the accused, was verified as stolen with information from a neighboring regional police service.

As a result, Kyle MIDDLETON-LALONDE, 33-years-old, from the Township of Hamilton, was arrested and charged with:

–       Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

–      Driving while under suspension – two counts.

The vehicle was seized, and the driver is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
