Northumberland OPP – Elderly Woman in Critical Condition Following Brush Fire

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fire at a residential location in the Township of Hamilton.

On November 3, 2024, at approximately 9:40 a.m., OPP responded to a report of a brush fire on private property near a residence on Danforth Road West. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Township of Hamilton Fire Department were already at the location.

An 89-year-old female, from the Township of Hamilton, was transported to a local hospital where injuries are described as life-threatening.

An OPP Scenes Of Crime Officer ( SOCO) attended the scene to assist with the investigation. The office of the Ontario Fire Marshall (OFM) was notified and at this time, is not attending.

This investigation is on-going, and updates will be provided if and when available.
