The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a serious collision on Percy Street in the Township of Cramahe.
On October 31, 2024, shortly before 1:00 p.m., Northumberland County Paramedics, the Township of Cramahe Fire Department and OPP responded to a report of a collision involving a pick-up truck and an electric bike/scooter.
The 27-year-old operator of the bike was transported to a local hospital with life threatening. They were further airlifted to a Toronto Hospital by Ornge. There were no other injuries reported.
One witness told Today’s Northumberland the black pickup truck was traveling north on Percy Street when the e-bike/scooter was riding along the pathway through Victoria Park and exited onto Percy Street striking the driver’s side door and shattering the window.
Percy Street is currently closed between King Street and Church Street. It will remain closed while Traffic Collision Investigation (TCI) members attend and document the scene. Updates will be provided when available.
