Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Facing Charges of Theft, Three Counts Breach of Probation (No Name Released)

A Cobourg man is facing charges following a shoplift investigation.

On Friday, October 18, 2024, at approximately 7:50 p.m., police were dispatched to a business in the
downtown area of Cobourg for the report of a shoplifter in progress.

Through investigation, police identified the suspect and located him a short distance away.

As a result, a 32-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000, possession of
property obtained by crime under $5,000, and three counts of breach of probation.

The stolen merchandise was returned to the store.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a future court date
