Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 79 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on October 9, 2024 to 5:00 am on October 10, 2024.
Spat on nurse, charges laid
A 20-year-old Deseronto man is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing today following an incident at Belleville hospital Wednesday afternoon.
Police were called to the Dundas Street East health care facility around 3:15 p.m. for a report of a male causing problems with staff.
Upon arrival, officers were advised the male had spat on a nurse and uttered threats towards other staff at the site.
The man was arrested and charged with uttering threats, assault, causing a disturbance and intimidation of a health worker. He was held for a bail hearing today.
Windows smashed, culprits sought
Belleville police are looking to the public for assistance after a business on Pinnacle Street was vandalized earlier this week.
Officers were dispatched to the downtown business after 9 p.m. Wednesday after unknown suspects had thrown a number of rocks through the front window of the establishment. Entry to the site was not gained.
The incident had occurred sometime overnight Tuesday.

Theft of drills and saw
A worker on a construction site on Bridge Street East was caught off guard when an unruly pair stole several items from his jobsite, Monday.
Officers were dispatched to the site at 10:20 a.m. after the worker spotted a female – described as wearing a red jacket and on a bike with another male – steal a concrete saw and two impact drills and take off from the scene.
The drills were described as a ‘Rigid’ model while the concrete saw was a ‘Stihl’.
A search of the area for the pair came up emptyhanded, however an investigation is continuing.
