Aerial Enforcement: OPP Will Be Watching From Above

In Police Blotter

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers in Central Region will be on the roads and highways, and in the air, leading up to the long weekend.

A plane from the OPP Aviation Services will be working with officers on the ground, to weed-out dangerous drivers who are putting their own lives, and the lives of everyone else on the roads, in jeopardy.

Officers will focus on the “Big Four” factors in serious and fatal collisions. Those are aggressive driving , inattentive driving, impaired driving and lack of occupant restraints. Aggressive driving includes, among other things, speeding, unsafe lane changes and following too close.

We will not be providing specific locations for aerial enforcement. It could be the highways, or it could be secondary roads.

Please keep your eyes on the road ahead at all times, not on your phone and not on the sky.
