Belleville Police – Incidents Include Gun Call at School, Stolen Car

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 103 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on September 5, 2024 to 5:00 am on September 6, 2024.

Weapons Call
On the 5th of September at 1:48pm, Belleville Police were dispatched to a high school in the city’s west end after receiving a report that a student had threatened another student with a gun earlier in the day. Officers attended the school and conducted an investigation which resulted in the arrest of a 15-year-old male student. The accused, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act was arrested and held for a bail hearing on charges of Pointing a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Criminal Harassment. During their investigation, police located the weapon and determined that it was a pellet gun designed to replicate a real handgun.

Stolen Vehicle
On the 5th of September at 11:25am, a resident on William St. contacted police to report that sometime overnight, their black 2020 Volkswagen Jetta was stolen from their driveway. The licence plate on the vehicle was DAAB829. Anyone with information regarding the theft or the whereabouts of the vehicle is requested to contact the Belleville Police Service.
