Parks Canada Invites You to Come Celebrate Canada Day

In Upcoming Events

On July 1st, Parks Canada is pleased to offer free lockage for recreational boaters on the Trent-Severn Waterway in celebration of Canada Day.

The Trent-Severn Waterway offers the perfect setting for a memorable Canada Day experience, whether you’re seeking adventure, family fun, or a relaxing escape, but please remember these 10 golden rules when you are out on the water or visiting our lockstation green spaces:

o Know your limits – on and off the water.

o Dispose of garbage properly.

o Never feed wildlife.

o Keep your pet on a leash at all times when visiting our green spaces.

o Give wildlife the space they need.

o Avoid excessive noise.

o Use designated paths when visiting our lockstation green spaces.

o Take nothing but photographs.

o Respect speed zones on the water and watch your wash and wake.

o Respect restricted areas at our lockstations and exercise caution on the water.

To make the most of their Parks Canada experience, visitors are encouraged to plan their trip in advance. Visit the Trent-Severn Waterway website, sign up for our national e-newsletter, download the Parks Canada’s mobile app, and follow us on social media @TrentSevernNHS for inspiration on places to visit and to help plan the perfect visit.
