Cobourg Police – North York Man Charged with Impaired Driving Following Collision (No Name Released)

A 41-year-old North York man is facing charges after police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision.

On Thursday, June 20, at 6:00 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle collision on King Street West.

A westbound pickup truck struck a parked pickup truck just east of Burnham Street on King Street.
The front passenger wheel of the westbound pickup was torn off following the collision and the pickup continued along King Street West, stopping just past the Burnham Street intersection.

Police spoke to the driver, who was exhibiting signs of impairment by alcohol.

As a result of the police investigation, a 41-year-old North York man was arrested for Operation while impaired (alcohol) and Impaired operation – over 80.

The accused was released on an undertaking with a court date of July 10, 2024
